Dear students, Exams are approaching and the beginning of the end of a Term is approaching....
Grade 11 English Exam is on Tuesday January 11th 2011.
Expect the following in the exam and prepare accordingly:
1- LISTENING: 3 sections (short answer questions, multiple choice, notes / table completion...)
2- READING: 2 passages (short answer questions, T F NG, classification, matching information, sentence / table completion...)
3- WRITING: Task 1, describing an image ( linking words, paragraphing, comparing / contrasting, related vocabulary to describe trends...)
4- SPEAKING: 3 parts - Studying Overseas, Shopping and the Internet, Jobs and Job-Hunting, Crime and Punishment...
Remember a key factor while preparing for exams: TIME MANAGEMENT.
Make sure to time yourself while you practice at home and work through all the tips and tricks we learned to find the answer.....
- keywords
- paraphrases
- skim / scan
- read the first sentence of each paragraph to get the overall idea of the passage
- listen to the GIST
- read the entire graph before writing the first paragraph
- match information properly
- check your spelling
- In Listening, very often is the answer mentioned somewhere in the questions so you can ensure proper spelling... and so much more!
