Writing a Thesis - The Basics

Hello!

Writing is tough, and the toughest part is knowing what to write about. At the beginning of an essay is the thesis, which is basically the "what" of the essay.

Writing a thesis is often the most difficult part of writing for most students. Today we are going to look at what makes a good thesis, and break the task down and make it easier to under stand.

Writing Objective 1.0 - Describe a Process Diagram


Today I would like us to take a closer look at one part of the IELTS Task 1 writing that often poses a great deal of difficulty for students - writing about a process.

When you write about a process, you need to pay attention to the structure of your essay, and the type of language you use in your essay.

First, I want you to WATCH THIS VIDEO, which explains, in detail, exactly how you should write an essay about a process.

Get Writing!

Have you ever heard of OWL? It's Purdue University's Online Writing Lab. The link I have provided below will take you to a world of writing exercises, where you can hone your grammar, sharpen your spelling, and practice your punctuation.

I wouldn't recommend going straight to the paraphrasing exercises, becuse they are really tough. Instead, ease yourself in with some grammar!
